so grün, so blau

Auf dem Peloponnes, 50 km südlich von Kalamata, befindet sich eine zauberhafte, fruchtbare Landschaft: Messinia. Olivenbäume und Wein wachsen auf sanften Hügeln, die oft mit Steilküsten ins Meer fallen. Koroni ist der Hauptort, ein historischer Fischerort mit den Ruinen einer riesigen Festung aus venezianischer Zeit, in der sich heute ein verwunschenes kleines Nonnenkloster befindet. In der Landschaft und an der Küste liegen kleine Dörfer, und Charakopio ist ein solches kleines Bauerndorf. Hier liegt unser Haus am Meer. Mit 360 Grad Rundsicht sehen wir Kalamata, die Mani, Koroni und in allen Richtungen die Olivenhaine und die Weinberge. Alles wird aber dominiert vom Blau des Meeres und den Farben des Himmels, in immer neuen Schattierungen und Spiegelungen. Der Himmel und das Meer verbinden sich zu einem einzigen Sinnenerlebnis.

On the Peloponnese, 50 km south of Kalamata, there is an enchanting, green and fertile landscape: Messinia. Olive trees and vines grow on gentle hills that often fall into the sea with cliffs. Koroni is the main town, a historic fishing town with the ruins of a huge Venetian fortress that now houses a charming little nunnery. Small villages dot the countryside and coast and Charakopio is one such small farming village. Here is our house by the sea. With a 360 degree view we see Kalamata, the Mani, Koroni and in all directions the olive groves and the vineyards. But everything is dominated by the blue of the sea and the colors of the sky, in ever new shades and reflections. The sky and the sea combine to form a single sensory experience.
